OEM Seats
I recently disassembled my seats to look at the condition of the frame. The good news is the frame has no rust. The bad news is I can't seem to get the bottom cover to stay in place. The ribbon (steel or plastic?) in the bottom of the cover that fits into the groove on the bottom seat frame will not stay in place. I put it in the groove and then when I sit on it, it pops out. Any suggestions?

Re: OEM Seats
From what I understand, the foam keeps upwards pressure on the J-hook that holds the cover in place. When the foam gets worn out, it can no longer maintain that upwards pressure. So the solution sounds like new foam for the lower seat.

That's what I thought also, so I added some foam under the OEM foam. Still no luck.

Re: OEM Seats
So there seems to be two types of covers. Some used hog ties and some use a plastic strip sewn into the cover. Mine use the latter. I was looking at it a little more last night and it seems there is some caulk or silicone in parts of the channel where the plastic strip needs to go. Maybe done by the PO? Anyway, I will try and scrap this out tonight and see how it goes.baltobernie wrote:http://www.fiatspider.com/f15/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26168

I wonder which you get when you buy an aftermarket set?
