What is this?

While I was dis-assembling the dash I ran into this. I think this might be part of an underdash AC, which the PO had installed. It never worked and I removed it years ago. It looks like the brown wire is going through the firewall and the red and red/white wire grounds to the firewall. Does this look like an OEM part? Thanks.

when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

Could be. I guess it might also be part of the after market head unit that I ripped out. I just want to know if I can remove it. Anyone else?

Those crimped butt splices are not factory.

yep just tape off the hot wire
