Steering

Post by fiat218 »

Car came back with out the steering hooked up, so how do I get the knuckle end back on the steering box end,
Do I take off the steering box so I can slip the knuckle on or do I have to do something with the steering wheel
Thanks

Not sure I fully understand your question, but I can tell you that you don't have to take the steering box off to replace any of the steering linkage. It may be easier to manipulate the linkages if you jack up the front end and take the weight off the tires. Everything moves a lot easier.

Are you referring to the pitman arm that extends out the front of the steering box? Or are you missing one of the links? There are two tie rods, a center link, and a steering idler on the passenger side in addition to the steering box.
