I had my car in for inspection, It all went well except for left rear parking brake won't stop wheel from turning and the routing of the parking brake cable on the right side.
The shop says that I can't have a safety cert if I don't reroute the parking brake to above the exhaust pipe, I tried to explain that the cable rout was stock and that if I route cable above exhaust pipe it will bender tension against the pipe.
I also showed them that the factory cable stand offs show how it would route.
Would anyone have a factory diagram that shows original routing?
Thanks.
Parking brake cable routing
Re: Parking brake cable routing
Really a poor clearance issue from the factory. My right rear e brake cable housing is worn to the cable.
Will solve that with a slight bend, when I replace the rotted exhaust from in front of the cat to the tailpipe.

Re: Parking brake cable routing
It isn't that I don't think it was a weird route, I would just like to prove it to the shop so I can get my safety certificate.

Re: Parking brake cable routing
One of these 3 should do the trick. They clearly show the brake cables being routed above the trailing arms, , i.e. between the arms and the chassis. You could also show them the factory support brackets as further evidence.
Good luck, we all need it whenever dealing with a state entity. if the pics are chopped because they are too large, or you want to print them, just right click, save it in your system, and reopen in a different photo browser. Then you will be able to see the whole thing.

Thank you for the pictures.
I will have to be persuasive.
