Finally gave in a bought a 76 spider.
Hello, am in Las Vegas ... yeah I know too bloody hot to have the top down ... but hey nobody said Englishmen were sane.
Bought one as my father had one when I was small, made such a huge impact on me back then ... I had to have one. Any tips help of advice would be great ... Thanks ... Paul

Check out his maintenance and modification manual, it loaded with good stuff.

Hey Paul, welcome to the forum! The 76 model has a serious potential issue with the smog pump. It's driven by the exhaust cam and you have an interference engine. If that pump freezes up, the exhaust cam stops and the t-belt fails, bending all of the valves. If you don't have to undergo emission testing, remove the pump or belt.

first, welcome to the site. post some pics...quick!

second, the two biggest pieces of advice i have are
a) never think any question is too trivial to ask and
b) 80% of your electrical issues are poor ground connections, 10% previous owner screw ups, and 10% something else.
