Depressurizing Fuel Injection System on an 83

Post by Odoyle »

Seems like there are many ways people say to do this, but I was wondering if there is a preferred method anyone would like to share. :)
Per the photo below, this looks like a decent place to try and bleed out the pressure... or am I wrong? This is on a 83 F.I. spider

Remove vacuum hose from top of fuel pressure regulator (the nut you circled is attached to it) Apply vacuum for a few seconds and you are done.

I've always pulled the fuse to the fuel pump, start the engine and let it run until it dies. Now there is no pressure.

I usually pull the hose off of the CSI, easy to get at, but make sure a rag is wrapped around it, and the engine is cold.
