The fuel injection system will initially fire all four injectors and (if cold) the CSI regardless of the ignition system. Once the system gets out of "start" mode it starts reading the sensors. If your ignition system isn't working then the FI system will not function.
I don't know what coil you used but too hot of a coil will bake the pickup and control module.
When did Bosch introduce the coloured wires in the harness, all mine seem to be white?
