Glue used in top replacement
Glue used in top replacement
Is glue used in replacing a new top on 1982 fiat 124? If so, what kind and where is it used? Thanks to all.

Re: Glue used in top replacement
Yes glue is used and the one supplied in the top kit from the Convertible Top Guys is 4 ounces of HH-66 Vinyl Cement from RH Adhesives.

It is applied to the front bow and the tops of each sleeve on each rib that supports the top.
Don't glue it down and it can flutter quite badly while driving with the top up.
There hopefully were some printed installation instructions packed in with the top you purchased however I believe that there is a shop manual on-line linked to this forum that also has the factory instructions.
