replace the rear view mirror on 1980 spider
replace the rear view mirror on 1980 spider
Don't want to sound like a complete fool, but does the rearview mirror just pop off the windshield frame? And then the replacement just pops back on?

I wish mine came off that easy. I almost bent the frame and was fearful of breaking the windshield glass. It had not been popped off in so long there was enough surface rust on the spring mount to give a whole lot more resistance. It pops off but you may have to work it to get it moving without breaking anything.

I dont like the view blocking, so i cut and bent a piece of sheet metal to pressure mount on the dash and jb welded and shaped attaching the mirror upside down. Now, all 3 mirrors are on the same plane, and the movie out my windshield is unobstructed.
