In addressing my weak stock headlamps I got the headlight relay kit from AR and put in Sylvania SilverStar lamps, WOW!!! The difference is literally night and day, so now I am wife approved to drive at night, next alternator upgrade .
Have a great drive and enjoy the fall season , Pesto

Re: headlamps
Often not mentioned but the relay kit not only can make the headlights brighter it also prolongs the life of the ignition switch and the hi/lo beam switch in the steering column. WIn, win, win.

It was just my luck that I bought the version from IAP - right before they went out of business. It did not work. So tossed it. Will buy the one from AR. Pretty simple to install must have been a bad relay.

The universal 40 amp headlight relays are available at most auto parts stores in the HELP section for about $5. Advance Auto carries the Optronics and they have worked out quit well for me and probably cost me what I would have paid for shipping if ordered on-line.JohnMc wrote:It was just my luck that I bought the version from IAP - right before they went out of business. Aww man, I bought that same kit from IAP about a month ago and still haven't tried it yet, got sidelined with master cylinder and shocks, then carb upgrade. Hopefully it was a fluke for you and not end of the line quality issues! Looking forward to being able to see at night now that the sun is setting earlier.JohnMc wrote:It was just my luck that I bought the version from IAP - right before they went out of business. I found Gregory Smith's headlight relay kit to be extraordinarily well-constructed and literally plug-and-play.
