Front Seat doesn't slide forward

My Drivers side seat will move all the way back but not all the way forward. I tried dousing it with WD40 and forcing it forward but that did not work. I drilled a hole through the seat pan to get to the rear screw and removed the seat. The inner rail which has the handle will not move as far as the other rail or the passanger side. When I look inside the piece with a flashlight I can see a little bump where it looks like the roller is catching. It looks like it is part of the rail and is there to keep the seat from moving forward. Does anyobne know if any 1981 spiders had this issue. It looks like I could by a new rail for $50 but wanted to check on here before doing so. Thanks!
