Edit... Resto mod FIRST DRIVE
Re: Edit... Resto mod coming together
Now that's a nice group of cars!!
The girls all look about my daughters age which scares the crap outta me but I get it!
I see some plates I recognize, but who's cars are whos?
Back to it...
With molds made, and stored away
And the front bow cleaned and painted with rust inhibitor, the threads tapped out and new fasteners sorted, I bolted it back on the car.
Then I started addressing the bad ends on other cross bows. These are all repairable with a bit of weld and grind.
Grind
Weld and grind
Grind and paint
There are three other ends that need attention but I will not bore you with the pictures. You get the idea right?
Aside from Pat's idea about having a fiberglass front bow available, my plan has been to make a Bimini top for the car to help with the sunny Florida weather. This will wait until everything else is done but at least I now have the molds ready to form a front bow for my Bimini top.

I'll keep you guys in mind for sure. Have patience though as it will be months before I get to it. Selfish as I am, I need to get the car done.

We know how slow you FL guys can be......
I'll run the Texas test site - don't forget we'll need both bow shapes.

Just for that!!
PAT, WHO LIKES TO DRIVE SANS TEE-SHIRT (somehow involving sex in the mix)...
What? You didn't know that everyone thinks you are a pervert named Pat?
Ha!!
You can preorder yours any time!
NO GUARANTEES ON DELIVERY SCHEDULE!!
Now that was fun!!
Ok, top frame done except for some new rubber bits on order.
Ok, some of us know you are from the UK and your name isn't Pat... Still funny as hell!!

You keep your rubber bits to yourself
Re: Edit... Resto mod coming together
I was working on my rollbar...
But, having gotten the idea from the "Project Binky" guys, I stopped to make a new tool!
Now, this is especially surprising since I barely stop to clean!! Ok, I stop for all kinds of things, just not to clean.
Anyway, tired of the cords all mixed up in knots and as a way to force myself to be more organized, I built a rolling stand for my grinders.
Just like Nik and Richard, I hung an old flywheel from the bottom to keep it from flipping over.

You think? Ha! I'm just really lazy and hate changing disks constantly!!
Or... Time is money? Right... I'm in trouble!
But, with my cart right next to me, I dug into cleaning up the underside of the hood and believe me, it is sweet to have everything right there and not have to untangle the cord first!
PS: YOU probably own as many grinders as I do!! Dry Hungarian humor again!

Re: Edit... Resto mod coming together
So a short update, I have been making slow progress, just boring!!
Up on stands doing final body work.
And got the cowl area all cleaned up and painted.
I did pass a turning point this weekend as I stripped the guts from the passengers door. Those being the very last nuts and bolts on the car that I have not touched. So, now I have removed every single fastener from the car, and put some of them back...
