My 2nd Fiat

We recently experienced a tornado and devastating hail storm here in Windsor, Colorado. Our home is in need of some roof, siding, and fence repair, but my family is SAFE. And . . . to take some of the edge off of the storm trauma, we took the insurance money from our 99 Ford Ranger (which State Farm said was a "total loss" but still seems fine to us) and bought a '78 Fiat Spider. I had a '73 Fiat 124 back in college (25 years ago) and always regretted letting it go (traded it to a friend for a sweet '66 VW van). So this was the silver lining in a very dark cloud. We got to keep the Ford, and now have something FUN to drive around in. My 11-year-old son thinks its cool and so does my wife. I'm looking forward to chatting with other Fiat folks out there.

Nice "silver lining" story Doc. Welcome to the forum. You join a large group of us who pined for years to replace the Spider we let go in out youth. Congratulations.

Fords are good, but wow...totalled and still usable? Quite a feat for a Ford, 'eh? (I own three, so no flames boyz...)
