Hi.
can anyone shed any light on the subject of adjusting my hood & framework.
I've noticed on several spiders that the chrome rear-quarter glass strip (the one that folds into the bodywork) aligns with the top of the door glass when the glass is fully wound up. On my car it sits about an inch further.
The doors are not out of alignment, rather the top sits a bit higher whichs allows a bit of water sometimes to enter the car, mainly on one side due to the edges of the soft top not covering the door glass properly.
I was told that by loosening the two allen screws which secure the framework to the body, you should be able to lower the frame, but It seems to be at its lowest already - no further adjustment can be had.
Is there anything that I've missed.
Also, can someone tell me where I can buy the cables for the top.
many thanks

Re: SOFT TOP FRAME ADJUSTMENT
The 2 allen screws on each side that you mentioned are the main adjustments for the frame. The attachment points for the front bow is another ajustment, but that gives a little bit of slide adjustment for forward and backward of the front bow, and wouldn't change things up and down. I bought side cables from the company sold me the top, and they are not in business any more. I would contact some of the Fiat Vendors (Bruce's Parts Bin, International Autoparts, Vick Autoparts, Chris Oberts), or perhaps World Upholstery in Sana Paula, CA. If they don't have the side cables, perhaps they can suggest who does.
It is nomal for the frame to be a good bit higher than the window. The window side flaps should extend down toward the top of the window, and some tops do a better job of being more 'snug' to the window than others. My top (Caribou), just barely touches the window, and fits so tight that the side cables hardly do anything. My previous top had a much better fit.

Re: SOFT TOP FRAME ADJUSTMENT
Hey,
I bought my side cables from the local wire and rope shop. I took the car down and showed him the attachment that it needed to secure to and he made up two cables for me. Cost me $20. If I remember rightly I had them made in 2mm wire at 1.2m length.
Hope this helps!
Glenn.

Got 1/16 aircraft cable at the local Home Depot - about $3.00 per car.
