Heater Control Cables Slipping

Post by gcorsar »

I pulled the console to clean up some stuff and tried to tighten the heater control cables so they would work better. The problem is that I can't get the clips to clamp down on the outer casing tight enough to keep the whole cable from sliding instead of just the inside wire. Any ideas on how to clamp down on these things better?

I tried bending them but actually had to flatten them a bit to even get them to grab a little. I can't seem to bend them enough to get a good grab. Maybe I need to lube the cables a bit and try again.

You could wrap the cable in tape to make it thicker.
