A fellow FLU member has written up a petition to FIAT and would like us to show our support. It may not help, but what the heck...I've included my John Hancock on it. How about you?

I signed, but it could backfire if Fiat only receives minimal support. They may decide their potential market is too small

I don't think it would be sent if that's the case.

Re: Do you want Fiat to come back to the US?
Fiat IS comming back (sort of)
We all know that Afa is on its way in the not to distant future. Fiat has decided to manufacture some Alfa models in North America to ensure that the cars are profitable because of the low U.S. dollar. I read that they will be selling Italian built cars (at a loss) stateside for possily 1-2 years just to get the name out there and they will be distributed through Maserati dealerships until a proper dealer network is established.
Fiat has anounced it will also be selling the new Fiat 500 and the 500s full model range including the base models, abarth models, an upcomming convertible and an extended version. They are not sure if the car will be badged as a Fiat or not. This car WILL be built in the USA, Canada or Mexico. So far this is the only Fiat model that they plan on selling in America.
FYI Lancia (not comming to north america) has confirmed they are taking concrete steps towars reviving two icons to boost their brand immage. They will be building the Fulvia and the Stratos. There are concepts cars for both models but they probobly will be building new concepts since the chasis in which those concepts were based on are now obsolete.
Im very happy to see the Italian Car industry slowly climbing its way back from the verge of complete colaps. They are beginning to do what they do best. Design beautifull fun to drive sporty cars.

Re: Do you want Fiat to come back to the US?
I just went to our local Fiat dealer to by some liquids .-) - given the current prices of fuel etc. I think there would be a great worldwide market for their fantastic new 500 - and their other cars - look at their lineup at http://www.fiat.it --> modelli
ciao,
Stefan
