Can someone confirm the orientation of the 2 pivot bolts that are nearest the plate that bolts to the chassis?
My top was replaced at some point. It has never operated smoothly. Don't know if the frame pieces are connected properly. The direction of the bolts will tell me. So, do the bolts point in or out?
Thanks,
Warren

Re: Convertible Frame
Good info there but doesn't answer the question.
Can anyone have a look at their frame?

Re: Convertible Frame
Sorry I don't have the answer as my top is off, however could you please tell me the size and thread pitch of the bolts that secure the frame to the body? I thought I labled and bagged everything when I disassembled the car but.........
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Convertible Frame
Wizard: My top has been replaced a couple times. So I can't be positive the mounting bolts are correct orientation. Mine point out, the nut is on the outside toward the body panel. I don't see how the aft bolt could be installed with the head on the outside.
Ptoneill: I don't know the size or pitch but they are the only Allan head counter sunk screws associated with the top.
Hope this helps.

Re: Convertible Frame
I don't have a picture but they are very distinctive. maybe 2 inches long, angled head to fit the taper of the bracket, allen head, and the threaded end tapers to a point.Ptoneill wrote:Sorry I don't have the answer as my top is off, however could you please tell me the size and thread pitch of the bolts that secure the frame to the body? Thanks, mine point in. The frame pieces have different sized holes to mate with the bolts. Once I mount my frame, I'll try the bolts both ways to see which works best.spider2081 wrote:Wizard: My top has been replaced a couple times. Re: Convertible Frame
Ok I was confused as to what you needed...I took photos of my frame it is off a 79, the bolts have not been taken off so they should be as built.
Let me know if this shows what you need...
If you go to the photobucket link the sizing is a little different.

Re: Convertible Frame
Perfect photo! My upper bolt was reversed at some point and the long upper frame member is on the other side of the short piece.
Thanks
