Plugs for intake manifold

Post by mglisson »

Rookie in Louisiana needs help! I have a 1979 Spider that all emissions components have been removed. There are two holes in the bottom on the intake manifold that I need to plug but cannot find proper size plugs. Anyone have any ideas as to what are the sizes of the plugs, where I might find that info, where I might find plugs, and/or can they be plugged any other way?

There were several sizes of sensors there, we stock most sizes, but I need to know the diameter of the sensor that goes there.
Some of them can be substituted with oil drain plugs of different sizes, they can be bought at auto parts stores.

The 14 mm x1.50 oil pan plug worked! Now I am working on another hole to plug on the top of the intake mainfold. By the way I assume the water/antifreeze that is in that top chamber is supposed to be there or has some gasket failed?

Yes, the intake manifold is heated by the engine coolant.
