no heat

78 fiat spider 124--turned heater on for first time and everything works except no heat even though motor is hot--looking through posts here and suspect heater valve--any ideas and is valve hard to get to

Heater valve is on passenger side of heater box. Peak at it and move the heater control to see if the cable is opening and closing it. Could also be an air pocket blocking the flow or even a clogged heater core. If the heater valve is opening and closing, try bleeding to see if you have air trapped or back flush the system. I haven't dealt too much with the valve but I think that as long as it's opening and closing it would still let coolant flow. Seems like they are good for leaking when bad
