Coolant changing
The 71 has bad/gunk coolant. How do you flush it out of the block?

Re: Coolant changing
You put it on a trailer and drive it to Florida and dump it in my driveway, shake my hand, call me Beek, if it makes you feel better, and consider it resolved!!

Re: Coolant changing
A lot of guys put a T fitting on the upper heater hose, and that connects to a garden hose. It is pretty easy to pull the radiator and flush that from the bottom, and once you have that out you can pull the thermostat and get a lot of flow through the water pump outlet. Prestone makes a flush kit with a T fitting.
Thanks for the reminder, I have to do my Other Than Fiat...

Yeah, I wouldn't flush that until you have the head back on. Tide or Dawn. TSP or Simple Green. Put in fresh oil and run it up, then change out your oil and filter again, if it doesn't look right. You can flush the block with the head on and the water pump off. You can flush the radiator out of the car.

Yeah, that would be the head gasket, if it keeps coming back after a flush. I suppose you could have a crack somewhere, if the car had water in if and it froze. If you have ever run the car before this, and it didn't mix, that would be unlikely.fiat218 wrote:I'm not sure how much, it don't over heat, but I have never drove it,fan does come on it cycle,my mechanic said there more oil pressure then water pressure so it sucking the oil thru the port, and not water thru the engine
