Has anyone tried using oil-impregnated bronze bushings on their steering idler? I replaced mine (long gone from the body of the idler) with the replacement plastic bushings available from many of our trusty retailers, but the idler still feels 'squishy' and I think it contributes to a slight left pull under braking?
I found some on eBay, that I think are close to the correct dimensions, but wanted to know what others thought...?

I'm still looking forward to seeing if that works! It seems like a good theory! Have you ordered some Lloyd?

Hi Alan, it's taken me a while to find some (and these are really close) that match the dimensions of the plastic bushings that I bought. I didn't want to spring for custom bushings, but these are cheap and I plan to give them a try.

Keep us posted!
Also, from a local machinist, I heard this. If you find something close that I can modify, it will be a lot cheaper than me making it from scratch.
