Fuel Draining Question

Post by thefullnelly »

I need to drain the fuel tank on my spider since it's been sitting for eight months while the engine was being rebuilt. How would I go about doing this?

How much fuel is in the tank? Probably can just add some fresh and start it up.

the filler hose enters the bottom of the tank so you could remove it, but if that hose is old it will be quite brittle. I'd remove the sending unit and use a pump and piece of hose to suck it all out

What year is your Spider? Up to about 1972 they had a drain plug in the bottom.
