I will likely be in Pittsburg, so that would be shorter drive!
It was fun, you would have liked it.

Yep, Andy is right, bit further for you but shorter for me. Sounds like a great venue.
All you Texas guys are all set as Andy is footing the bill for a semi next year!

This is the worst time of year for progress on the car since work is crazy busy and it rains sideways pretty much every afternoon so I apologize in advance for the near future lack of posts...

I finally made some progress building an engine stand which will allow me to assemble engine and trans with steering rack and exhaust on the cross member. I have to fit everything and build a heat shield between the exhaust and the passengers rack boot. This will also make fitting all the bits very easy and I will jack the whole assembly in from the bottom when complete.

I also disassembled my drive shaft, cleaned up all the parts and painted them this weekend. Good to be making progress again.

Thanks Andy!
I have my driveshaft all back together and started fitting my exhaust. The center muffler should arrive today so more soon...

Still no center muffler but I have been making a little progress with the rest of the exhaust.
Here is the new to old connection,

I will have to trim some of the length off that once I have the center muffler.

I will also have to re-route my emergency brake cable since this pipe is a bit larger than the original.

I think I can make a different bracket and lead the cable over the exhaust.
More baby steps towards hearing this thing roar!!!

Jim,
This header is in pretty good shape and just needs a bit of clean up. I purchased some internal exhaust coating from Eastwood to help reduce excessive heat.

Madbeez,
Thanks!! I will be playing with my gopro when I get his thing started for sure! There will be an open invitation to the engine install party! I coud use all the help I can get :D

With my muffler not here yet (had to reorder) and not enough proper mandrel bent turns to make it work (ordered more of those),I backed off the pipe fitting and got working on a heat shield.
Image

Then I cleaned up and welded the crappy joint in my header and ceramic coated the whole thing. It was something to do...
The header is not new, not perfect, but should work just fine and my budget has gone right out the window so maybe one day...

I'll put it all back on the temporary engine set up tomorrow for a better picture.
