The family Fiat is finally getting passed on to me. She is a 1974 Spider that my dad has owned since new. I have wanted this car for as long as I can remember. I tried to talk my dad into letting me have her for my 16th birthday (24 years ago)without success. It took 24 years longer than I wanted it to, but I learned this past weekend that he is ready to pass ownership of this classic car to me. I just have to find some time in the next week or two to head down to Florida and pick her up.
She is red (as all Italian cars should be!), black interior with about 85K original miles. She is in overall good condition with just some TLC needed to get her back into showroom shape. Primary issues are wood wear and carpet wear.
I look forward to getting to know fellow forum members that can help me to keep this beautiful car running and looking as good as she deserves to. And of course I want to make sure her performance potential is maximized.
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: New member from Atlanta
Your Dad sounds very sensible. My 14 year old daughter is already asking if she can have my car when she turns 16. I don't think so! Maybe when she's 40 I'll let her have it.
Give us some pictures when you get her home.
Welcome to the forum.

Reservation is set to fly down to FL next weekend and pick up the Spider. Thanks to other posts and links on the forum, it has been very easy to track down the few parts I already know I need to replace to bring this car back to mint condition. I can't wait to finally get my hands on it!
