Driver's Window Weather Seal

The window track weather seal on my car (driver's side) needs to be replaced. The portion from the top of the window frame to where it goes down into the door fell off. My car is a 1975. The replacement seal (fuzzy strip) is approximately 29 inches long. The service manuals I have (Factory, Clymers, Brooklands, Haynes) provide no information about how to replace this weather strip. After I take the door panel off and then remove the old strip (will it just pull out?) how do I install the new one? Do I have to remove the window glass? Does pressure of the window glass keep the weather seal in place or is some sort of adhesive used? Any help would be appreciated.

I did this on my car a couple of years ago and I know I didn't have to take the glass out. As I recall I just pulled the old one out and slid the new seal down the metal channel with the help of a long screw driver. It sort of locks itself in place.

If you want to glue it in you can use 3M weatherstrip adhesive, available at auto parts stores.
