noisy front vent windows

Post by jamesrobert »

hey guys just finished a minor repair on my front vent window seals and i thought it might be helpful to those of you who, like me saw the price of the replacements and cringed (90$ was about as cheap as i could find correct me if i'm wrong). Anyway essentially what i did was coat the edge of the glass with grease where it should contact the rubber seal and then i applied black sikaflex ( i cant remember the exact type) to the surface of the rubber where it was cracked etc. i closed the window on top of the sikaflex and it created the best seal ever. after letting the silicone set i trimmed off any excess on the window and the job was done. I can happily say that at 100km/h i have no wind noise or leaks at a fraction of the cost.
