Sooo laid back, it's horizontal!

Wow! I guess Im a minority when it comes to musical selection while driving my Fiat! Over teh last year, I have been getting back into punk music.
While driving th eFiat, I play ALOT of Dropkick Murphys. If you are not familiar with the group, it is a band from Boston that is of Irish heritage. They play a cool mix of punk, with a heavy Irish infulence. Punk music with bagpipes! They also play alot of pub music/drinking songs.
Other groups
Ministry. They have one of the best driving songs ever made. "Jesus built my hot rod". Its a pretty good song to drive fast to.
Sex pistols, Bouncing Souls, Clash, More Drop kicks. When Im not listening to CDs, I just put the Sirius radio on channel 29 and drive. Thats th epunk channel. I also listen to the 90 grunge channel, and all of the classic rock channels. I actually prefer sat rad over cds, because you never know what they are gonna play next. One minute Im listening to Rancid, the next I hear a really obcure Doors song that I dont recall ever hearing.

Flogging Molly! Good group. I'm not as familiar with them though.
Ever since I posted the thread about my music, I've had Dropkicks "Cadence to arms" stuck in my head. That is some of th emost bad ass bagpiping I have ever heard.

Flogging Molly is also good, but now that we've skewed into the Celtic theme what about the band that started all of that; Pogues and Shane McGowan?
Re: Music you listen to when driving your Spider?
I thought only muscle car guys new "Jesus built my hot rod"? If we bring all them on board then we have to add the "SCOTS" (Southern Culture On The Skids). I'm glad to see we all enjoy such a wide varity of music in our very similar cars.

Well someone finally mentioned Gary Newman's Cars!! How about Lou Graham's Midnight Blue?? anyone remember that one? And Panama is one of my all time car tune fave's!
I can't believe that someone, heck a few someones on here knows DKM's!! I have seeen flogging Molly the last 2 years in Tulsa they rock!! Hey guys try a band called Seven Nations, Scottish rock, bapipes, fiddle and an amazing voice as well!
I am a odd nut I can listen to most things, depending upon my mood at the time, there's a time and mood for most music!
Did I mention that I worked on the Oklahoma Scottish Festival's Board of Directors for 10 years last serving as VP? I haven't gotten in my "new" ride yet kilted, that might take a wee bit of getting used to! Is it a sin to listen to the pipes while motoring in and Italian car??? Of course I have to get my center console re-installed don't I! For now the engine is music!!

I saw Seven Nations a couple of years ago at the Scottish Fest in Orange County. They were good, but I haven't seen them around since.

Awesome! Well we do have a few things in comman Mark! They, (7N) are in very high demand these days. They are too big to play around here anymore, they are playing at the Texas Scottish Fest in a few weeks but I can't afford to go down there unfortunately.

I like classic rock. Makes me feel tough lol. Some other music but mostly classic rock, not all loud though. Depends on my mood really.

Hmmm... for the record, my tastes are eclectic. However, all this reminds me of a movie I saw, perhaps in the sixties. Maybe someone else remembers this: Some italian star (perhaps Marcello Mastroianni) driving along windy Italian roads in an open top sports car (probably an Alfa, but wouln't it be nice if it was a Fiat), playing music on his record player (yes a '45 turntable) that mounted in the glove box. I remember being astonished, and I clearly remember it had some doodads to hold the needle to the groove, perhaps a spring and a special arm of some kind. I think he had a lady with him, or perhaps was on the way to or from a rendezvous. Fantastic scene, epitomizing the Italian sports car experience.
Does anyone remember this? It would be great to discover the movie and see the bit again.
