clutch shudder
clutch shudder
My '77 Fiat Spider "shudders" when taking off from a stop in first gear. I Replaced the clutch recently and more recently had the flywheel resurfaced, having been told that that was the probable problem. It still shudders, but only in first gear; and only after driving several miles. It takes off smoothly in first when I first begin driving, and moves smoothly in all other gears, and even first, if not beginning at a dead stop. How do I identify the problem and fix it?
Re: clutch shudder
weak or broken springs in the clutch disc, oil on the flywheel or broken motor/trans mounts can contribute to shudder
