Upgrading to rack & Pinion steering
Upgrading to rack & Pinion steering
I have a 1980 spider I want to upgrade from the steering box to a rack. I have been told that the 131 fiat rack will fit but needs modifications Does any one know if a Scorpion or Strada/Ritmo unit will fit??

Re: Upgrading to rack & Pinion steering
There was a complete set for sale here recently from a late model spider, might be worth a search
Re: Upgrading to rack & Pinion steering
Ok I finally found a rack that fits perfectly !! and it's from a fiat UNO so I'll supply the link http://www.rexbo.eu. It comes out of Germany cost was $300 delivered to me in Canada. Tie rod ends from a 1985 fiat spider will bolt on. The trw number for it is JRM109 so search that and it will fit

Re: Upgrading to rack & Pinion steering
you still need to modify the crossmember so there is something to hold the rack
