wiring to sensor under intake manifold

Post by smfg »

Hello everyone,
I've got a couple of books and have spent days trying to wire back up my engine. The car is a 76 fiat spider, and the part that i'm having trouble with is what color wires connect to the two sensor under the intake manifold (not sure what they are for or called). I've waisted too much time trying to figure it out on my own and must ask for help. If there is any with a 76 spider how would be willing to look at there and pass the info to me I'd be very, very gratiful.

I too, am gonna be interested in the responses here. I have a 2000 engine that will soon receive a manifold from a '76 engine.

What are those two sensors for? Are they replaceable with new units?

my book shows two blue/red wires that attach to a water temp sensor under the manifold. The sensor operates the air pump system electovalve

Thanks So Cal Mark.
That helps alittle. I do have two blue/red wires. Does your book show wether it is the sensor closer to the front of the car or the one further from the front (i think that makes sense). By the way what book are you using?

Thanks again,
steve

I've got every book published that I know of, other than Crofts' book. I looked at a couple of them this morning, but neither showed the 2nd switch, but I know that the cars had two. I'll have to do some more research for you

hi mark-

have some similar questions regarding this string too. I am in the middle of replacing a head gasket and have everything opened up... would like to know about the sensor underneath a 78 spider 124. What do they do, and how do i order replacement sensors?

I am still unclear about the wiring under the sensor on my 78 fiat spider.

Can anyone help... what does it do and what wire goes to.....?
