Hey - for those of you that know me, I've been whining about my overheating problems since the cold weather hit before Christmas. I finally deduced that when I had the radiator recored, and I let them refill my coolant the trainee entrusted with the refill forgot to open the heater... So everything was fine until I opened the controls wanting a bit of heat a few months later!
Having also needed a new radiator cap, I ended up needing to top up the coolant at home. I got most of the air out by burping until another owner at C&C suggested a t-piece in the top of the heater intake hose. 4$ later at my local parts store, 5 mins installation, and all my air bubbles have gone away. Radiator a lovely even temperature, and all is well with the world.
Why oh why doesn't everyone do this as standard? It just "makes sense"!
Andy

... I bet you have a t connection coming out of the thermostat... so you just disconnected the branch there, rotate and fill?4uall wrote:I followed the instructions by myself on level ground many times and have never run into any problems
... for those of us with a single connection to the top of the rad.... it's harder!

Re: Overheating Problems No More
I fill my 72 thru radiator and have never had a problem. Obviously, YMMV
