Welcome Fezza ,what did you do take care of the holes in your trunk(boot) after removing the luggage rack.I want to remove mine ,as I think the car looks so much better w/o.I need to do it without the expense of a re spray. Here is a pic of mine.

Thanks and good luck ,Craig

Craig, I've given this question a lot of thought, seeing as you were so thoughtful yourself. This is ingenious, and doesn't require any resray at all. 4 smiley faces over the holes! Is this good or what?

Hi Ga

Quite simple to do really. I took the rack off and then coated the holes from the underside with some rust proof protector first.
Once that was dry i then just stuck in 4 rubber grommit's which cost about 10p each.

The ideal solution would be to fill and respray but as you say this is a very expensive option and as you can see from my pics it looks fine.

The grommets are a good idea, and I hadnt even considered that.I would put the smiley faces on but I can't find them in blue...damn!I am going w/ the 4 antenna look when I get my new 24'' spinners and my 18'' subwoofer is installed. The velour seats will be the last piece of the puzzle....except the hydraulics.I want her to jump!!

That is really cool that you and your mates can drive to the Le Mans classic this summer. I have wanted to go since the first event in 2002. To be able to drive my Spider there would be a dream! Unfortunately for me, it would involve a transatlantic flight and some boring rental car. Plus the US dollar these days is only worth, well...nothing! But I still plan to attend on of these years.

Hi All

Well its been a long time since i last posted anything-May in fact-but since then i have pretty much got the 124 how i want it and have also been on the 1200 mile round trip to the Le Mans Classic in France in July 2008.
All i can say is WOW!
What an event and i can highly recommend it to anyone who has never been.

Anyway here are some pics starting with 3 of my 124 in Le Mans

As you can see its not looking to bad nowadays comapred to when i first bought it. I still have a few mechanical tweaks to finish and ideally i want to have a full respray done however as im sure you all know it costs big money for that!

Anyway, back to Le Mans and below are some pics i took of a small Fiat 124 Spider owners club that were on display round the circuit. There was a variety of years and models but my favorite was a rare Abarth Ralley car which let me tell you sounded fantastic!

Finally, we were inspired by the classic movie "Rendavous"-where the guy drives at high speed round the streets of Paris in his Ferrari using an onboard camera mounted at the front of the car.

OK, so we didnt have a Ferrari and it wasnt exactly high speed, but we did have a camera with a tripod that could be positioned anywhere on the car so here is our little experiment video using my 124 driving through Anarge near the race Circuit. I have more of these so may post some more when i get round to it but as you can see it was a good bit of fun! :D

Great video; thanks! You're sharing the road with lots of interesting cars during the clip. That Abarth sure looks the part, with those tires ...

I was taking bets on which oncoming car was going to knock the camera off. I lose!

Cool vid.
