Convertible Top Care

Post by gcorsar »

The top is not nearly as flexible in cold weather as in summer, no surprise there, but what would you suggest to keep the top in tip-top shape? Any all-around general maintenance tips?

Great responses! It's a fabric top. Focodave's response reminded me to consider the plastic window too.

Here's a really good product I found for the rear window (link is in the first post of my thread, below).
I was amazed at the results...

I don't know about upkeep, but make sure you keep the top up during the winter. Last winter I kept my top down while the car was in the unheated garage all winter. One day in January I was having some issues with my other car and decided to drive the Fiat that day. I pulled the top to put it up and the rear window ripped completing across. It was due to be replaced anyway, but I will never do that again.
