Hi to everyone, great site!! Could the owner with the picture in the gallery of 1976 Spider from CA send me a message. I have had your spider as my computer screen background for the past 6 years, now I have purchased my own and trying to find wheels similar. Your spider is on my msn spaces account http://spaces.msn.com/tredenick/personalspace.aspx
Yours is on my profile picture and my 1980 Spider is in the photo album. If anyone else knows where to obtain wheels like this send me a message please. Glad to see the site operational again.
Hello from Canada
Hi Danno and welcome to you also
I feel like a big spot light is blinding me and there is a slight haze from the cigarette burning in the interrogation room.
answer to A) It was owned by a guy I think his name was Scott Smith may not be sure of the last name. He was a investment guy. He sold it about 3 4 years ago thru ebay I believe...
answer B) The wheels on my car are 13" rims and I was hoping to go to 15" with a wider tire.
Answer to C)that is the spider to which I am refering.
The spider on my album does have California Plates as I purchased it from California The pictures were all from the ad. I had it shipped to Buffalo. I flew to Buffalo to pick it up last fall and drove it home to PEI. I could send you a picture of it in my garage with the PEI plate if you would like.
Seriously the rims I have are fine but as I mentioned I would like a wider tire which would require a 6 to 7 inch width. What can I say I like the look of the iron cross type wheel.

Thanks for having a sense of humour about it, lol! OK, now go out to your garage and prove that you actually have that car up in Canada now, lol. That's a nice looking car from what i can tell. Wish mine was so nice.....PEISPIDERMAN wrote:I feel like a big spot light is blinding me and there is a slight haze from the cigarette burning in the interrogation room.
Anyway, the guys around here are good with IDing wheels, so hopefully someone can help you. I mean, how many 4x98 wheels can there be?
Have any problems on the drive home? Where were you on the night of March 12th? Was everything as you hoped/as advertised? (there I go again with the questions...)
Egad my garage needs a cleaning
check my site, I took a couple of pictures last night but they didn't turn out that good...Check out the plate last registered in 2003, I have been looking for this car for a number of years. Had a 79 that I picked up in NY but after looking at the cost of body work and paint I decided rust free is the way to go and FI. Sold the 79 last spring.
Just had the car inspected and will register today, the guys at the garage were astounded, dreaming of how good it would be to work on California cars all the time....PEI has a slight rust problem, surrounded by salt water and having salt all winter on the roads leaves cars pretty rusty. Which this spider will never see!!!
Bought the car in September through ClassicCars in Pleasanton, CA. Paul & Sue were excellent to deal with and described the vehicle to a tee.
The drive home was great. The only problems were we missed a Wine Festival in St. Catherines by one day and we had 70% of drive in light rain. Car worked beautiful. What reference is the March 12th date?
And what is your car?

LOL, just standard interrogation, are you saying you don't have an alibi?PEISPIDERMAN wrote:What reference is the March 12th date?

My car is a 1980 Carbed 2000 Spider. It has a ton of potential and the engine is in excellent condition (as far as I know) but it had fuel problems that I thought I'd solve by getting a new carb and intake manifold. I'm sure it will run great once I get it all installed. one problem seems to lead to another. Water damage from a bad roof has lead me to restore the complete interior and has put a damper on engine projects until I get the leaky fuel line replaced. Then my ADHD has lead me all around the car diving into some small and some big body projects....
