Wiper lubrication

Can somebody please tell me if this will come apart so I can clean/lube it? and if so how? pictures would help. Thanks!

Wow. I would've never tried that. Guess you had to do it slow so you didn't mess up anything inside. What size bit did you use? Did you have to use a punch first to seat the bit? What did you use to lube them?

The drill bit is about a #33 slightly smaller than 1/8" but any size in that area will work. I think there are bushings on the ends of the shaft so I drill in the middle thinking the hole is between the bushing.
After drilling the hole I free the assembly up with PB Blaster penetrating oil then once very free I use 30 weight non detergent oil. Some one else could have a different suggestion for the lubricant.

Yep, drilled the hole. Maybe a 1/8" bit and sprayed WD40 into it for about 2 days and it worked like a champ. I like the detergent and oil suggestion. I'll do that and then seal the hole with silicone I guess. That way if it happens again I'll be able to just pick out the silicone and lube it again. Can't wait to put it all back together and see how much better my wipers work. Not that I plan on driving in the rain but would rather have them work well in case I get caught in it.
