Replacing trunk lock

Has anyone had to replace their trunk lock and if so, do you have specific direction on doing so?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Usually the only difficulty is getting the retaining ring to turn. I've had good luck spraying it with penetrant and then using a screwdriver to turn it. On later cars you can leverage against the inner valence.

I had to have the lock drilled out and now cylinder is shot. Just wondering how the cylinder comes out. What connects the cylinder to the long trunk latch bar? I have a replacement trunk lock just need to know how to remove and replace.

I believe, the lock tumbler is held into the housing with a "C" clip. be careful removing the tumbler as the little pins that the key activates easily fall out. There is a short metal arm the "C" clip holds on to the tumbler that keeps the tumbler in the housing. The plastic piece that connects the small arm to the latch mechanism connects to the small arm with a screw.
Hope this helps
