Gas filler hose

I would like to change my gas filler hose on my 1976 spider. It connects the downpipe to the gas tank. It's maybe about 5-6 inches long. Does anyone know a good place to buy it from. Would be nice if it were flexible.

I found it for cheaper. The company Gates makes fuel hoses. Just need to cut it to size.

buy the correct one, from a fiat vendor, universal cut to fit wont be correct. just my opinion,

I just had to replace the fuel filler hose on my '75 Spider.
I had to destroy the old one due to installing a new fuel tank.
Autoricambi has them on backorder, so I researched elsewhere.
There is a Gates Part# 24712 that cross references to a NAPA Part# NBH 1046.
It's a 2" ID with a 45° bend. It's long, so I had to cut several inches off of each end.
It's a bit expensive @ $35.99, but it was available and I needed it right away. It installed perfectly.
Hope this helps, if you haven't already gotten a replacement.

I finally got to the gas tank. Had it all rebuilt, they sprayed the inside with a special product, so it should never rust again. I think they coated the entire tank with some kind of teflon.
The problem that I'm experiencing now is trying to reconnect the filler hose to the gas tank. I installed the entire Tank with all the hoses, bolted the tank down. I also connected the filler hose to the down-pipe, but slipping it onto the gas tank is giving me problems. The hose is kinked and not sure what else to do.

If someone has some insight pls write back.

Hey Gates,

I have heard that if you heat up the tube (blow dryer, heat gun, hot water) don't melt it and stay away from the gas it will expand enough to slide it on then as it cools it will make a tight seal, remember to put the clasps on BEFORE you slide it on

Nobody can stay in business by selling only those things that can't be second-sourced from the general auto parts world. Unfortunately, many don't realize the value of experts until they're gone.

Try to support them as you can - especially for genuine parts.

Don't confuse me for an expert. Disassembling and reassembling a few cars is qualification only for insanity.
