Clutch adjustment issue

Post by ga.spyder »

I had a problem a while back, where during a starter change my clutch arm became detached from the pivot. Thanks to the help of people here,I got it reattached in short order. It has been working fine, but the clutch engages to high for my taste.Probably less than an 1'' from the top.I prefer it to engage a couple inches down. I have honestly, been afraid to mess with it.But,I have decided to 'man up' and get it adjusted to my specs. The question is,which way do I turn the nut to get more free play?Toward the diff,or toward the front bumper? I have been playing with it,and it doesn't seem to change much.I have been making small movements and now I am a bit lost. Thanks

Loosen the nut to make it engage closer to the floor. Do the adjustment in small increments. A few turns can make a big difference.
