Halifax Nova Scotia meet ups

Hi Guys

Anyone in Nova Scotia who is interested in joining/starting up a new club?

I`ve been talking to a guy called Glenn who lives in HRM and we both agree that there is a distinct lack of local support for anyone with a European car in Halifax or Nova Scotia. There is plenty of shows/meet ups for the British or American brigade but nothing really exists for anything different.

I know there is a couple of us on here that live in N.S that mentioned a get together last year but nothing came of it. This is a chance to do something for this year. Hopefully it will be lots of fun. Glenn has 10 people signed up already via email and the ad has only been running a couple of days. Heres a link to the ad... We now have set up a facebook group called `European classic car club of Halifax`

I see there was 51 of you that looked at this topic. If anyone lives in Halifax area or even Nova Scotia, please have a look, like the page and introduce yourselves. That`s my Spider in the club cars section.

It is a nice idea, but I am always Leary of the Ferrari/ Maserati group turning up their noses at the "poor cousins".

I would be interested to at least check it out.
Unfortunately I have an aversion to anything social media so will have to pass on the " Bookface" group.

I hear what you're saying, I am also weary of this turning into what you have described, and also don`t want it to turn into another British car get together. They have their own clubs for that sort of thing. I reckon we should be meeting up anytime in the next week or so, I`ll let everyone know via here. You can also email Glenn to get more up to date info.

So far we have a couple of Westfalias, BMW 2002, Volvo's, Fiats, Alfas, mostly fun stuff. If nothing else it`s worth checking out as you say.

I live in Hubley, so not too far away from you!

Hi Phil,

Sounds like it might be worth a shot.

I am doing the floorboards in my car right now! Found a few holes when I looked at it after the winter.
I have got almost all of the tar off and have welded up the holes. Just need to get some time to get the remaining bits of tar off then POR 15 the inner tub. What started out as a quick peek has ended up as a complete inside tear down. Lol,
Just another day in the life of owning a Fiat!
If anyone has not removed the tar from their cars I highly recommend doing it before the rust monster eats away underneath it without you knowing!

Looking forward to the get together and hope I am finished the car before it happens.

Gentlemen, Sorry for my tardiness, I have been traveling and have been real busy, but I am back in NS and am ready to get this summer started!!! As was suggested a few weeks back, we thought it would be good if we could have a meet and greet on June 16th for introductions and have a brief discussion on the club and what it is the members want from it. After some slight organizing, it will be going ahead....apparently the forecast calls for 20o and sunny!! That said, here's how its going to go down:



We will be meeting at 552A Windmill Road (behind Pro Cycle) at 10:00 am Sunday for a quick meet-up and introductions. There is a members garage there, so last minute air, oil or otherwise can be attended to:
We hope to hit the road at 10:30(ish) and take the old coastal road to Lunenburg, as our destination and lunch.
Depending on how the day is going and what members want, we can continue on to Mahone Bay or make our way back to Halifax, to be determined;


For those members from outside the city (depending on where you are from) you can either meet up in Dartmouth with the group or pick us up on the route. Just let me know prior to Sunday where you want to pick us up and we will make arrangements to make our way to you or vise versa! I hope all are able to come along, if not, just send me an email to confirm that you received this notice and hopefully we can hook up on the next one!! For those of you on Facebook, I will organize an event there of which you should receive automatically.

Second meet up

Run up to Windsor/Valley, stopping at the British Motoring Festivalat Kings Edgehill.

Meeting at 8:30 at Tim Hortons in Bedford. All welcome.

While on a tour bus to P Cove a couple of weeks ago, I was waiting for a Fiat spider to go blasting by on the twisties...
had a nice walk about on the water front board walk while watching one of the navies antiquated Sea-Kings rattle on by a few times.

Hi Ian, it's actually this Sunday!

The plan is to meet up at European Auto in Bedford at 10 am and from there we will proceed to the Noel/Fundy shore. It would be great to have you come along!
If you need to know any more,then just email Glenn (or Me) and he will add you to the mailing list. So far we have 22 members and are hoping for a good turnout this weekend. This will be our third run out this year and so far it's been lots of fun, more the merrier!

I see you are up Parrsboro way, if it seems too much of a haul to Bedford, we can catch up with you on the Noel shore. Maitland maybe?

Next run out is this Sunday the 22nd. It will be a run down the South Shore, Chester, lunch somewhere...etc. Where we meet up is to be decided as of yet, probably Tantallon or Bedford area.
