intake manifold removal
Someone please tell me i dont have to take of the timing belt, camshaft pullies and timing belt cover to get my intake manifold off. 1979 carburated spider.

do i need to loosen the timing belt cover? the fwd corner of the manifold pokes through an indent in the back of the cover

WIth my 1980 I never loosened the timing belt cover. You of course have to remove the forward most bolt which goes through a timing belt cover "tab". For me, this bolt was the most difficult to remove. A swivel hooked to the socket came in handy.
Edit: I also had to bend that "tab" toward the front of the car. Once I did that I had enough room to get the manifold off.
