World's Fastest Indian

I went to see "The World's Fastest Indian" last night. If you get a chance to see this movie, go for it. True story about Burt Munro from NZ who took a 1920 Indian Scout to Bonneville in 1967 in an attempt to break the motorcycle speed record. It's a great story, and you don't have to be a gearhead to like it

i'll put it on my list. Thanks, Mark. Is it theater worthy though, or rental worthy?

I'd say it's theatre worthy, although I enjoy the theatre experience. My screen and sound system don't measure up to the digital experience! The drivers' view at 200mph in the streamliner is probably better on big screen

I'm having trouble finding where it is playing. I saw an ad on TV during that big fancy football game today, but in checking our newspaper listings for movies, I see it playing in only 1 out of 130 theaters. Not a very big opening for this area, anyway. I'll give it a few more days. I don't really want to travel 30 miles to see a movie in a theater -- the ticket price is bad enough without out having to drive so far!!

I saw it at an AMC theatre, so I think it's in fairly wide release. My paper really doesn't cover Ventura, but it's listed in Thousand Oaks and the Cinearts Century in Ventura. Check it out at http://www.worldsfastestindian.com

Thanks, Mark. The web indicates a screening in downtown Ventura. I'll review the newspaper again.

How did the ride go on Saturday, at Mt. Baldy? It must have been nice . . . it was a lousy day for sailing. No wind!! Hope to see you on Feb 18th.

I wasn't able to make the run, I was busy putting a new motor in an Expedition. It was nice weather here though, I'm sure it was a great drive

just an update on the movie "World's Fastest Indian". I know few of you were able to see it at a theatre, but it comes out on dvd June 13th. Amazon is taking pre-orders for it, or urge your local video rental store to order a copy, you won't be disappointed! A bonus on the dvd is the original documentary that inspired the movie is included

I just saw it yesterday on DVD. It is a very good movie- held the interest of everyone at a friends BBQ (yes, even the wives).

Stars Anthony Hopkins as Burt Munro. May have stayed below the radar due to the subject matter, but it is not a "gear-head" movie per se. It is one that I will add to my collection- it's a decent movie, and the documentary is pretty interesting as well.

And it appears that his record still stands- he exceeded 200 mph back in 1967, and no-one has outdone it on a bike in that same size/class.

Here, I went looking for info and found this...

Being a long time bike rider, I've been wanting to see it too. Wife is going out of town for a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll duck out one night and do just that. ...J.D.
