In process of taking out the starter, which I just realized is a jerk to remove lol specifically the top bolt just at the start of the transmission cave.
Ideas?

Hearing this awful noise from the starter the section, sounds like a gear grind or chain pulling all sorts of wrong on a bike. While trying to start It can make that noise for a moment then stop suddenly ( from a build up of tension?) Then just start to make this noise and shake my engine. At a bit of a stand still past few weeks.

I just went through this myself. I'm in the process of getting the transmission out, and I can see the ring gear and it's not in bad shape. Is the starter not getting enough power to engage? But if that were the case, rolling the car a few feet in gear wouldn't allow the car to start again. Hmm... Any ideas guys?
