Clutch Spring Replacement Suggestion

Post by tedy »

The clutch spring, that is supposed to be connected between the clutch fork and the transmission is missing on my 81 Spider. VICK offers a replacement but it is not available at this time. :( It looks like a carburetor return spring will work. Does anybody have any suggestions or should I go with a carb spring? :?

a carb return spring will most likely work just fine, the purpose of this spring is just to keep the throw out bearing off the pressure plate. if it touched the pressure plate all the time it would wear out very quickly

Oddly enough, mine was missing too.

I'm dropping the gearbox off to be rebuilt. Hopefully he will have the spring.
