Time for new brakes

Post by fisherr1 »

Hi everyone, finally puling my car out of storage for the year. Lots of projects planned for the summer but first I want to replace all my pads and rotors. I'm looking for a subtle upgrade in performance with a subtle price increase as well. Has anyone purchased a brake package from ebay where you get all pads and rotors for $140-$180? They are drilled but also have slotted models. If that seems like a poor choice for quality would anyone suggest stock rotors with green stuff pads or something similar?

Thanks

I bought from Mark (Allison's Auto) front slotted rotors, green pads all round and the braided steel flex brake lines.
Good upgrade in my opinion.

About three years ago I purchased one of the slotted rotor and pad sets from e-bay. At the time there was a sale or something and the old rotors were warped. Rebuild the Calipers my self. I gave it a shot and the brakes have been flawless ever since. I also had to put in new hard brake lines and a new master cylinder.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

Just an update, In the process of replacing the brakes. Painted calipers, replacing seals and boots. I decided on solid rotors and upgraded front pads. I'll let you know how it works out! Thanks for the replies.
