Starter nightmare

Post by htchevyii »

Man, I thought people were exaggerating at the difficulty of replacing Fiat starters...until now! I installed them in my '82 and '72, the fuelie was cake ( no fuel pump in the way) and I don't recall the '72 being memorable, but my '78 rat racer kicked my butt! I think the biggest issue is the fuel and return lines have been replaced and are in the way. I took out a new looking Kragen reman and installed what looks like a 40 year old starter from my last parts car. It's not even done yet, ( got dark), but I feel like punching myself in the face for not putting a new gear reduction one in! Oh we'll, probably still better than a junk reman....I hope!
