Radiator temperature switch
I just purchased an 81 Spider. I am going through the systems one at a time before I really take it out on the road and see what it will do. I have yet to see the cooling fan for the radiator run. I put direct power to the fan and it seems to work just fine. I would like to check the temperature switch located on the bottom of the radiator. Can I just remove the switch and put it in some hot water to see if it works?

Re: Radiator temperature switch
You don't need to remove it to check. With the car warmed up above 190°, check the continuity across the two switch terminals. The switch should be making the (ground) circuit at this point with no, or very little resistance.
