That's great to know. Mine is running well so I have no immediate plans to pull and build. One thought I have is swapping out a 1800 head to raise the comp a bit. Based upon your experience, a head swap shouldn't raise any issues either.

i am curious to the answer to this question also....

wizard124 and Matt,
I can't speak from experience when it comes to putting an 1800 head on a 2000.
I haven't done it.
But as far as compression ratio goes, remember that the compression ratio decreases as you get higher up in elevation. So my engine effectively has a compression ratio of about 9 to 1, which is one reason I went with the high compression pistons --- because in Colorado there are some performance losses due to the elevation here. I often drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park which gets into the 10K elevation range.
The biggest concern with higher compression ratios is detonation (pinging). That will kill an engine over time. As long as you can avoid the ping, you have a chance at getting some decent life out of a high compression engine (IMHO).

Matt,
That's great.
Sounds like you got her back together?
I will be away for 5 days straight, starting Saturday.
Big trade show in Denver I need to attend.
Should be a great weekend to head up to Estes.
