I just picked up a 'new' used 4-2-1 exhaust manifold to put on my '78 spider. It did not come with the bolts/studs to couple the downpipe to the manifold. I was wondering whether to use a stud or bolt in this location and what the specifications were for the stud or bolt.
Thanks,
Dave
Exhaust manifold to downpipe bolts/studs?

Thanks, couldn't find that detail anywhere it felt like.So Cal Mark wrote:I'd use studs, 8mm x 1.25
The boxes were not sorted well at the hardware store, but I purchased what I believe were 40mm long ones. They were "Just" long enough to start threading and using lock washers got nicely tightened up.
