overheating and lower radiator hose disconnecting.

Today I finally got my plates on my car. Drove my car to work. Seemed like the temp was up higher than it should have been. The temp sensor tends to hop, so I thought much of it when it jumped to 250 for a moment then back down.

After lunch I noticed it stayed at 260 when I went to park. Thats when I noticed some smoke and burning coolant from the hood. A puddle. A loosened but not entirely off lower radiator hose. I'm assuming pressure popped her loose? I may have done my coolant wrong.

A bunch of twisting and pulling, a screwdriver, and a gallon of water from a arizona green tea jug later I drove home witbout a single overheating spike. Like a man.

The only thing I did different; I topped off my coolant this morning at the bleed top, but not the top of the radiator. Could that be the whole reason this happened though?

in a word .... yes .... you can do a search about filling coolant or some such stuff.... our babys are very picky about the coolent level and do not like air in the system at all
