Still trying to find out the problem with my 1980 Spider overheating. The lower hose is not getting warm and there is very little movement in the radiator of liquid. Could i have a bad water pump? I have burped the system.

Re: Water Pump
If the air is out of the system, then it sure sounds like a thermostat issue. From my experience the water pump usually starts leaking and not stop pumping.
Can you describe the "over heating" problem? It is easy to remove the thermostat and place in a pan of water and bring the temp up and see if the it is open. Also, check that it is installed in the correct direction.

On 2 liters sometimes I have to do tat 2-3 times to get all the air out and get the t-stat to open.
Do you have a bleed Tee in the upper heater hose (the one that goes over the camtower). That makes bleeding a lot easier.
